Art of Cashmere

Natural, precious and delicate: the origins of cashmere

A soft, warm and natural textile fiber, obtained from the undercoat of a goat native to the Himalayas and used to surviving at -40 °.

Cashmere is a unique and rare material: an average of 100 grams is obtained from a Hircus goat, about a quarter of the material needed to weave an item of clothing.

Pinotti's garments always follow the canons of high quality cashmere, being all composed of two or three twisted threads.

To be considered true cashmere, the fiber must be composed of at least two layers, that is, two intertwined threads. A two or three-ply garment is more resistant and warmer than single-layer cashmere.

A precious, warm and natural yarn

Compared to the classic sheep's wool, cashmere is warmer and lighter. In addition, it has a high thermal insulation capacity, both from heat and from cold. It's a fiber as precious as it is delicate: a cashmere sweater should always be hand washed at a maximum of 30 °.
